Missing fields

If placeholders are not showing in the Field tab, the document usually has a content-control configuration issue.

Common causes​

  • Placeholder text was typed without inserting a content control
  • Tag is empty in Content Control Properties
  • Control was added but document was not saved before upload
  • Old file version is still attached to the template

How to fix​

  1. Open template in Word using Edit file
  2. Select each expected placeholder and open Properties
  3. Set both:
    • Title (human-readable)
    • Tag (system key)
  4. Save and close Word
  5. Re-open template in Templionix and verify fields

Prevention​

  • Use consistent tag naming (for example client_name, invoice_date)
  • Avoid leaving control properties at defaults
  • Re-check the Field tab after every template update
